Reference Library

Hey Nick! Great meeting you at ASYNC 2025.

My feature request here is a reference library which users can add to so we don't have to reinvent the wheel each time. This would require adding a backend and maybe even auth which could be more trouble than it's worth.

An easy implementation could be that users could share their designs with you via this repo and use the existing shareable link functionality. You or other contributors could add these links to some sort of library page.

I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of a back-end. The main issues with it right now are that I'd have to throw together a privacy policy and pay for hosting again (I used paid hosting for the first few years)

Your "easy implementation" might be a great start, and then I could also set it up to let the user connect it to something like a Google Sheet to source additional libraries.

In any case, I'm definitely getting close to the point where I need to start using cookies to store user settings; linking external libraries manually every time would be cumbersome. I don't think consent forms are needed for non-tracking (functional) cookies, but I'll look into that to be sure. If a consent form is required, I want to roll my own and make it less intrusive, less annoying, more informative, and more useful than the standard forms.
