Arska controls hybrid inverter charging/discharging functionality, Fronius GEN24 Plus supported

You can find latest Arska source code with charging support in branch dev-1.1-battery. This software version supports controlling charging and discharging of batteries connected to Fronius GEN24 Plus hybrid inverters

New channel type Fronius GEN24 Plus charging (int)

To control your inverter from Arska, define a channel of type "Fronius GEN24 Plus charging (int)" with IP address of your inverter. Enable Modbus ( int&SF mode) TCP in your inverter.

Using (dis)charging profiles in a rule set

In the baseline Arska version you define target states (up/down) for rules and additional default state which is applied if none of the rule conditions is matching, see more. For inverter channels you define target control profiles which are applied respectively .
In the ruleset of inverter channels control profiles are used:

No control	Charging is controlled by the inverter, not by Arska

Testing and manually controlling control profiles

At the dashboard you can manually schedule charging profiles.

Battery charging level SoC

State of Charging (SoC) is queried from the inverter once per 5 minutes. SoC percentage is updated to variable 600 which can be used channel rules.

In addition SoC level is visible in the dashboard graphics.

Price modifier

Price modifier allows you can for example set negative modifier for night time hours when the transmission cost is lower. Modified priced are used in all calculations, ranks. and grahs etc. Clear price cache and restart after the change.

Know limitation in the limited beta version

• [Current version assumes that maximum charging power of the inverter is 5 kW. Because of this for example 50 % charging profile will charge with 2,5kW power regardless of the power of your inverter. In the future versions you can define maximum power of your inverter.]Fixed

How to start testing/using

1. Discover the basic version of Arska; Arska wiki, tutorial videos
2. Get hardware for Arska. We recommend LilyGo T-relay ESP32-S3 6-way relay board with HAN P1 -adapter (if you have an energy meter with HAN P1 port, FI/SE)
3. You can build and install software (firmware & filesystem) from the source code in GitHub or ask me (olli@netgalleria.fi) to send you test software. I'm quite busy until the end of March, so it may take some time to respond.

Arska 1.3 version (alfa 1 test version) includes support for Fronius Gen 24 plus inverters. It is 15-minute MTU (Market-Time-Unit)You install it from Arska installation page or from the settings.

Please note that this is preliminary first test version and you should be ready to restore older version if there are problems.
