v1.6.1
------

This patch allows to create additional queues for bulk indexing to prevent the
creation of huge amounts of workers when full reindexing resources.

v1.6.0
------

⚠ Production instances need to migrate data, as this release modifies the data
model of several resources:

-  `rero/rero-ils@dd83a91b`_ (procedure to be found in the commit message).
-  `rero/rero-ils#2393`_ (procedure to be found in the PR description).
-  `rero/rero-ils@c4bdd9ef`_ (procedure to be found in the commit message).

New options have been added to the CLI to allow to reindex a resource into
another index, and the to switch from one index to the another. This prevents
to interrupt the service during the reindexation process.

This release allow the user to sort the search result list alphabetically and
by date (ascending and descending) for several type of records, on the public
and professional interface. It also improves how the search handles queries
with diacritics (`#2396`_).

Notes can be added to the language field (`#1867`_).

Two issues on the notification system are solved:

-  The availability was wrongfully sent to the owning library instead of the
   pickup library (`#2373`_).
-  As overdue notifications are grouped, the reminder number in the e-mail
   subject can be misleading (`#2390`_).

The anonymization of circulation transactions is modified to keep at least the
last three months of operations, even if the patron doesn't keep the
transaction history, in order to allow librarian to manage circulation
(`#2068`_).

The information displayed on the patron detailed view of the professional
interface has been improved. In the patron brief view, the connexion to the
circulation interface has been changed as a link instead of a button, thus
allowing the librarian to open it in another window or tab.

The circulation history of the patron, as seen on the public and professional
interface, displays correct data (`#1227`_). Alongside, the total amount on the
fee's tab of the public patron account is restored (`#2319`_). The ILL requests
are also correctly displayed (`#1902`_).

Creating a template on the base of an existing record resulted in errors, due
to the links to other records (`#2385`_). From now, all the links inside
templates are handled.

v1.5.0
------

This is the first release since the :rocket: go-live, as we published
several patches (from ``v1.4.0`` to ``v1.4.11``). The main feature
of this new version is the displaying of all the fields of the document,
both on the public and professional interface. Patrons will finally see
all the bibliographic metadata carefully filled in by librarians.

Alongside, some improvements and issue fixing take part of this version,
such as:

-  Clearing the input field of the circulation interface quicker, before
   the transaction is closed, thus allowing the librarian to go on (`#2244`_).
-  Removing default value of optional fields in the cataloguing editor,
   because in some case it forced the librarian to clean manually unused
   field (`#2080`_ and `#2310`_).
-  Preventing the deletion of a document if it is a parent record of
   other documents (`#2414`_).

This patch brings several improvements and fixes on the notification
process:

-  Preventing to repeatedly send notifications that are in an
   error state.
-  Preventing notifications to be in an error state if the pickup
   location is deleted.
-  Cancelling generated notifications if the situation changed between
   the generation and the processing. Indeed, some notifications are
   asynchronous in order to be able to group several notifications of
   the same type to the same patron. But in the meantime, the notification
   may be outdated, because the loan has been renewed or checked in.
-  Preventing to send reminders if the library is closed between the due
   date and the notification processing (`#2303`_).
-  Computing the date at which the due soon notification has to be sent when
   creating the loan, instead of through a recurring task, in order to improve
   performance and apply a more stable date.
-  Processing due soon and overdue notifications as soon as possible, to
   prevent sending them after the loan is either renewed or checked in.

Other fixes have been added to the patch.

------

This patch improves the mechanism of error login for the selfcheck
machines and notifications process to improve the diagnostic of issues and its
resolution. Other issues on notification are also resolved:

-  Improvement of readability of the groupes notifications (`#2247`_).
-  Availability notification sent to the wrong recipient (`#2300`_).
-  The link to the patron account should redirect to a login page if the user
   is not authentified (`#2282`_).
-  The library name is displayed in the notifications instead of the pickup
   library name when the location is not a pickup location anymore, or not
   available.

Other issues are solved on the SRU queries and on the display of items
on the document detailed view.

Finally, the support of loan listing, even if linked items
or documents are deleted, is supported.

v1.4.6
------

This patch mainly fixes notification issues signaled on the production server:

-  Some notifications aren't sent to the patron when he or she has no primary
   e-mail, but e-mail as the communication channel. This is often the case with
   children that have the parent e-mail in the additional e-mail address field
   (`#2152`_).
-  In the notifications that should be sent to the patron by mail, the address
   block was missing (`#2188`_).
-  In the booking notification, the patron information that were displayed were
   the ones of the patron that is checking in the item, instead of the patron
   that is requesting it (`#2197`_).
-  Request notifications on item that have a temporary circulation category
   with a negative availability should not be sent (`#2191`_).

------

This patch is a fix for the precedent one (``v1.4.4``, below), that broke the
display of items on the document detailed view. In the same move, some
improvements have been added to the document detailed view of the professional
and public interface:

-  Collapses the holdings by default, except when there's only one item in it
   (`#2133`_).
-  Loads at least 10 holdings, as they are now collapsed. Then loads holdings
   10 by 10 (`#2134`_).

v1.4.4
------

The main purpose of this patch is to improve overall performances by optimizing
the facet computation, which consume lots of CPU resources as the production
server of RERO ILS has lots of documents with lots of fields:

-  Fixes the extra API request on the public search page (`#1970`_), that alone
   improves the performance by 2.
-  Prevents to compute facets on the search suggestion queries, as they aren't
   used at all.
-  Computes only the expanded facet on the public search (document type) and
   computes the other facets only if the user expands it.
-  Prevents to launch an empty search for lists such as users or documents in
   the professional interface, as the user will always type a specific query,
   thus spare CPU resources for bette use.

This patch resolves several issues on notifications, spotted on the production
server:

-  Request notification is sent to the pickup location instead of the owning
   library; furthermore, when a recall notification has already been sent,
   no request should be sent (`#2152`_).
-  Sometimes booking notifications are not sent (also `#2152`_).

The fourth case listed in the `#2152`_ issue will be fixed in a future patch.

This patch occurs after the 🚀 *go-live* 🚀. It resolves the most urgent issues
signaled by librarians.

It improves the interface for validating requests that is too slow with lots of
requests, thus preventing librarian to fulfill them.

Several issues on notifications spotted on the production server are also
fixed:

-  The URL in the notification is wrong (`#2151`_).
-  The *to pick up until* date in the availability notification is not
   displayed (`#2140`_).
-  *Due soon* and *recall* notification e-mail has not object (`#2139`_).

Search

   troubles with JSON reference resolution.

Circulation
~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Fixes the ``can_extend`` check method. Sometimes, no loan parameter
   can be send to the ``can_extend`` method. In this case, the function
   skip all checks and return ``True``. Now this function try to load
   the loan based on others function arguments to be more relevant.
-  Ensures there’s only one default circulation policy per organisation.
-  Allows to create circulation policies with different loan period for
   2 different libraries.
-  Ensures that closed or refused ILL requests do not appear on the
   patron account.
-  Adds a CLI to manage selfcheck terminals.
-  Implements circulation history on the item detailed view of the
   professional interface. Ensures the trigger actions are translated.
-  Fixes the display of the circulation category in the different
   languages set in the circulation category record.

Notifications
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Fixes the display of the next opened day of the library in the German
   availability notice template.

Metadata
~~~~~~~~

-  Corrects two ``relatedTo`` that should be ``reproductionOf`` and
   ``hasReproduction`` in the document JSON schema.
-  Moves part of the ``assigner`` title in the description and completes
   the description.
-  Allows the ``u00ba`` unicode character (º) to be used in the
   ``bookFormat`` field.
-  Displays the ``temporary_location`` on the document detailed views of
   public and professional interfaces, and on the item detailed view of
   the professional interface.
-  Sets ``adminMetadata`` as a required field.

Data import

-  Makes import from the BNF SRU service more stable.

Data export
~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Fixes SRU XML format and type. Changes XML element ``<record>`` to
   ``<recordData>``. Adds ``provisionActivity`` and ``copyrightDate`` to
   MARC21 264 tag transformation.

User management
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Adds email field to the *authenticate* service.
-  Allows to save a user without e-mail. Avoids to check the uniqueness
   of the user e-mail when the user has no e-mail.
-  Improves the patron CLI to allow to import users and to update the
   user and patron records.

Utilities, scheduled tasks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Uses a JSON writer (``JsonWriter``) to write data into JSON files.
-  Deletes old unused ``translate`` function from cli.
-  Removes standard holdings that has no items. Following the recent
   changes to the item indexing, the feature to automatically delete
   standard holdings with no items is disabled. This commits puts back
   the removed logic as a cron job.

Records
~~~~~~~

-  Improves the method for record updating.
-  Avoids multiple validations when a record is created.
-  Adds a new ``commit`` parameter to the update, replace methods in
   ``ILSRecord``.
-  Fixes two operation logs creation when a resource a created, one for

Circulation

-  Improves the incremental fee limit in the circulation category editor, by

   preventing a librarian without the patron role to use this form to

-  Fixes fee computation. The ``datetime.now()`` as default value in

~~~~~~~

-  Ensures that the ``issue.status_date`` field is updated when an issue
   is created or updated.
-  Adds a new ``temporary_location``, associated to no logic yet. It
   allows to link all serial items of the same journal to the same
   holdings even if some items are in another location as the other one,
   as it is quite often the case. The new field is a JSON reference to a
   location and has an ``end_date``.
-  Fixes creation of late issue.

User management
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Adds a ``code`` field in the patron JSON schema to store a code from
   the legacy system and to keep the OAuth server working as it is.
-  Makes the `local_code` an array.
-  Relaxes the ``minLength`` constrain on the user ``firstname`` or

Professional interface

-  Fixes the wrong label of a menu entry. The **second** *patron types*
   is in fact *item types*.
-  Moves the item editor from the *standard* to the *long* editor.
-  Updates the item brief and detailed view to display the temporary
   circulation category data.
-  Displays an operation history button on record detailed views. The
   button opens a modal that list the operations that occurred on the
   record (creation, updates, deletion) and the user responsible of the

-  Enables the ``longmode`` for the holdings editor to improves
   usability. The following fields are displayed by default:

Metadata
~~~~~~~~

-  Inherits the item call number from the holdings first call number

   -  Collection detailed view.
   -  Late issues and inventory CSV export interface.
   -  Generated notifications sent to the patron.

-  Set the item barcode as optional. If an item is created or updated
   without barcode, the back end will generate a fictive barcode itself.

   This prevents the translator to translate once the code and once the
   natural language version of the same concept. The same is done in
   some ``oneOf`` sections, replacing the value of the ``title`` key by

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Fixes the author facet of the BnF import search view.
-  Adds the language facet to the same view.
-  Fixes the crash at ``unimarc_series_statement`` creation.
-  Removes the local fields tab, as it makes no sense on the import

Circulation
~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Unifies time management with ``utcnow`` in circulation API for
   ``transaction_date``.
-  Uses a temporary item_type (or Circulation category) for circulation
   operations (checkout, extend, renew) if it’s defined and valid on an
   item.
-  Adapts SIP2 type to the new document types.
-  Allows libraries to have as many pickup locations as the need.
-  Adds conditions to consider a checkin with no action performed in
   order to display item info (for example, when an *in transit* item
   barcode is scanned at a wrong library).

Logging changes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Creates a new resource named “operation logs” in order to keep
   history of record updates. Each time a record is created, updated,
   deleted, an ``operation_log`` record is created with the type of
   operation, the user responsible for it and the modified record. The

   In this case, the ``expiration_date`` (and other patron related data)
   should be cleaned to allow the record to be saved.
-  Allows the patron to decide if the loan history has to be kept or
   not. Both the patron and the librarian can set this parameter. If the
   ``keep_history`` parameter is set to false, then the loans are
   defined as ``to_anonymize``.

   -  Adds a scheduled task to anonymize loans after a patron changed
      the ``keep_history`` setting.
   -  Once the ``keep_history`` parameter is set to false, loans are
      automatically anonymized after updates.

-  Allows a librarian to work by multiple libraries (in the same

   has been extended with the corporate bodies records. The corporate
   bodies can be added through the document editor, as a link to the

   instead of ``extend_loan`` when a loan is renewed.
-  Fixes the cancellation of a request when there are several requests
   on the item.
-  Sort loan API response by loan creation date.
-  Implements circulation restrictions:

   -  Adds a limit on the total number of checkouts. Once the limit is
      reached, checkouts for this patron is blocked.
   -  Adds a limit depending the total amount of fees for a patron.
   -  Adds a limit on the number of overdue items. The limit is set in
      the ``patron_type`` record. Once the limit is reached, the patron
      cannot check out any items.

-  Rewrites the blocked patron restrictions to adapt to the new
   implemented restrictions.
-  Hides circulation actions in the public interface, either in document
   detailed view or in the patron account when the patron cannot operate
   these actions. The *renew* button is always displayed, but disabled
   when the action is not possible and an explanation is added in a
   tooltip.
-  Fixes a bug when checking in ``on_shelf`` or ``in_transit`` item
   (with no loan) that did not receive the correct item status.
-  Removes the time from the due date of a checked out item on the
   document detailed view of the public interface.
-  Fixes a bug with paid fees. In the patron account of the circulation
   module (professional interface), some paid fees still appeared, due
   to arithmetic operation (10 - 9,54 = 0.460000000000085).
-  Displays the pickup location name instead of the location name in the
   *to pickup* tab of the circulation module.
-  Updates circulation HTML template after the ``v0.13.0`` release to
   fix Cypress tests.
-  Allows librarians to cancel requests on item with *at desk* status.
   The ``cancel_request`` permissions had to be updated. A flash message
   warns the librarian about the item status. The item detailed view is
   updated after the request cancellation.
-  Adapts the patron name link, in the circulation module, to the
   context: in the checkin mode, the link points to the patron account
   of the circulation module, but in the patron account of the
   circulation module, it points to the patron detailed view of the
   professional interface.
-  Adds the patron age to the patron birth date in the patron account of
   the circulation module, to quicker identify children.
-  Allows the librarians to sort the checked out item of the patron
   account of the professional interface.
-  Improves the patron search of the circulation module to allow
   searching by barcode or patron name. A warning is displayed if the

Metadata
~~~~~~~~

-  Makes the ``cantons`` field conditional of the ``sz`` (Switzerland)
   value of the ``county`` field.

   pattern template. This leverage the setting of the enumeration and
   chronology of the issue.
-  Improves the serial pattern preview. The number of HTTP calls have
   been reduced.
-  Displays late and claimed serial issues in the professional interface

-  Allows users without email. When a user without email attempt to
   reset his or her password, a warning message propose to contact a

-  Allows users to give a second email for notification only, thus
   allowing a child to give its parent email.
-  Fixes a subscription renewal issue preventing to add to patron a

-  Sets a default expiration date value to now + 3 years.

-  `rero-ils#1187`_: Date validation in JSON schema (editor) are not
   robust as it allows date such as 2020-67-74.
-  `rero-ils#1230`_: The requesting patron last and first name are
   inverted in circulation module interface when a requested item is
   checked in.
-  `rero-ils#1246`_: Displaying the patron account, either on the public
   or on the Professional interface is too slow, because the API
   response is not optimized.
-  `rero-ils#1252`_: Holdings for journals have several issues: hidden
   issues (items) cannot be expanded; the *description* tab is empty;
   receiving an issue is not possible when the holdings is imported from
   the legacy system (Virtua) with the wrong type (*standard* instead of
   *serial*); sometimes the library is not displayed in the holdings
   (only the location)…
-  `rero-ils#1264`_: A note is hardcoded in the courtesy notice
   (circulation notification). It should be removed from all
   notification templates.
-  `rero-ils#1284`_: Call numbers (1st and 2nd) should not have
   validation constraints, such as minimal number of characters.
-  `rero-ils#1272`_: As a logged patron displays his or her patron
   account, if a fee is on dispute, the view crashes and displays an
   internal server error.

Circulation
~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Upgrades ``invenio-circulation`` from ``v1.0.0a16`` to ``v1.0.0a21``,
   then to ``v1.0.0a23``, ``v1.0.0a25``, ``v1.0.0a26``.
-  Fixes automatic item assignment on pending loans, preventing a
   checked-in item to be assigned to all pending loans of its document,
   by adding the ``assign_item`` parameter to all ``ITEM_RETURNED``
   transitions. Fixes `inveniosoftware/invenio-circulation#127`_.
-  Uses ``datetime`` to manage start and end date fields of the loans in
   ``rero-ils``, since ``invenio-circulation`` ``v1.0.0a21`` uses
   ``date`` format.
-  Implements `circulation actions`_, after an effort to extensively model all
   circulation use cases, for library network complex workflows:

   -  ``add_requests`` actions. Fixes issues when multiple requests are
      allowed for the same patron on the same item, and when loans with
      state ``ITEM_IN_TRANSIT_TO_HOUSE`` were blocking new requests.
   -  ``checkin`` actions.
   -  ``validate`` request actions. Fixes the issue when a manual
      validation of a request validates all requests on the same items.
   -  ``extend`` actions. Fixes an issue that allowed extension of a
      checked out item even if pending loans (requests) were associated
      to it.
   -  ``cancel_request`` actions.
   -  ``change_pickup_location`` actions.

-  Adds a ``LoanState`` class to better handle loan states.
-  Creates a ``item_record_to_a_specific_loan_state`` method to change
   the item record status.
-  Adds a configuration named ``CIRCULATION_LOAN_LOCATIONS_VALIDATIONS``
   to extend validation of loan locations (integrated to
   ``invenio-circulation`` ``v1.0.0a25``).
-  Fixes issues raising when placing several requests simultaneously
   (``invenio-circulation`` ``v1.0.0a26``).
-  Extends circulation fixtures to reflect improvements in the circulation
   module.
-  Allows an item having loans attached in ``CREATED`` state to be deleted.
   Such loans have no impact on circulation, as they are the result of
   interrupted circulation actions.
-  Fixes an issue preventing an item to be checked out if two pending loans
   (requests) are attached to it.
-  Allows circulation actions to be linked either to a transaction
   location or to a transaction library.
-  Renames the ``validate`` API call to ``validate_request``.

-  Adds missing parameters to the renew button in the patron profile of

   location name and code to the loan dump to improve the circulation
   interface accuracy.
-  Fixes an issue that prevents the pickup location of a request of
   ``ITEM_IN_TRANSIT_TO_PICKUP`` loans to be changed.
-  Fixes an issue that prevents ``ITEM_IN_TRANSIT_TO_HOUSE`` loan to be checked
   out to a patron that does not own that loan.
-  Rewrites the loan permission factory and adds a specific class for
   ``invenio-circulation`` resource. Simplifies the ``search_factory``
   method. Fixes an error in the loan ``search_factory`` method when the
   user has both ``patron`` and ``librarian`` roles.
-  Implements the patron information in the ``invenio-sip2`` module, allowing
   patrons to access their information through the selfcheck machine: checked
   out items, requests, overdues, fees…

Metadata
~~~~~~~~

-  Improves ``marc2json`` and ``validate`` CLI commands to work properly
   with JSON references.
-  Moves a field of the document JSON schema that was badly situated
   after the splitting of the schema, from
   ``rero_ils/jsonschemas/common/languages.v0.0.1.json`` to
   ``rero_ils/modules/documents/jsonschemas/documents/document_series-v0.0.1.json``.
-  Implements the new ``contribution`` field (that replaces of the ``authors``
   field).
-  Replaces, in the document JSON schema, the labels of the agent roles
   by their code (ie, the content of the value key), in order to avoid
   translating the code and the label.
-  Adds a functionality in the *Reports & monitoring* section that
   allows a professional to export an item inventory list to a ``CSV``
   file. Before the creation of the export file, items can be
   filtered by library, location, item type and item status. The search
   itself retrieves items based on all their fields, such as the
   barcode or call number. That points to the list presented as a search
   result on RERO ILS.
-  Improves ``marc21tojson`` transformations with a better
   identification of empty values, and their replacement with default
   values.
- Allows (temporarily) to attach a serial holdings or a standard holdings to a
  document of journal type or periodical issuance type. This is necessary for
  migrating all the legacy system records to RERO ILS.

Acquisition
~~~~~~~~~~~

-  Updates the document and item JSON schemas for the new acquisition
   list management. These lists are generated through an ES query that
   filters the newly acquired items with a specific time span. This
   allows a librarian to define a permalink to be shared through the
   library website (or elsewhere), that points to a RERO ILS search
   result presenting the list.
-  Adds a search input in the order line editor to find a specific
   document and to save the librarian the burden of typing the full REST
   API document URL.

API
~~~

-  Adds ``marcxml`` support to the document API, thus allowing an
   authenticated user to post ``marcxml`` records using an external
   script. The record is added to the database with the ``_draft`` flag
   set to true, to disable the validation of the data and to avoid the
   record to be found in the catalog.

Permission
~~~~~~~~~~

-  Adds the ``document_importer`` role to users posting records
   (documents) through the REST API. A new CLI command creates a
   personal OAuth token for authentication.
-  Adds a method to return a record class from a given ``pid_type``.
   This method is available globally.

-  Adds fixture data for end to end (e2e) tests with `Cypress`_.
-  Splits ``commands.js`` `file`_ into multiple files to improve its

-  `#1085`_: Item search by barcode is not filtered by organisation,
   resulting in possible circulation actions in the wrong organisation.
-  `#1137`_: The patron account view, in the public interface, crashes
   when an item of the loan transaction history is deleted.
-  `#1158`_: A missing configuration prevented the Celery scheduler to
   locate the ``task_clear_and_renew_subscriptions`` method.

   to their type: public notes are publicly displayed on the document detail

   in the professional interface, checkin notes are displayed as a permanent
   alert as the item is checked in, and checkout notes are displayed as a

   queries are needed to populate the user interface. A new HTTP query optional
   parameter is added to identify the simple query: ``&simple=1``.
-  Sets the same AND boolean operator instead of OR when selecting
   multiple items in the same facet, thus reducing the scope of the
   filter instead of expanding it.

-  Creates a separate table for each resource in the database. Import
   and export of a resource are easier and access to records faster in
   big datasets.

   -  A global API for all resources (records) is now available (class
