# Assess if we can remove `is_electricity_producer`

In the past, we needed this definition to check if different technologies are electricity producers to include them in the financial stackup for LCOE.
Since then, we've made many improvements to the framework, including financial calculations.
We should assess if we still need this functionality or if it can be removed.
