NETCDFLIB order in configure.rip needs to be changed.

After running ./configure, there's a line in the configure.rip that says
NETCDFLIB = -L${NETCDF}/lib -lnetcdf -lnetcdff
It needs to be changed into
NETCDFLIB = -L${NETCDF}/lib -lnetcdff -lnetcdf
The order is important when compiling using gfortran.

Do you know when this change occurred in netcdf?

This occurred when netcdf splitted into netcdf-c and netcdf-fortran. RIP was released before or during this change occurred. In fact, many programs had this problem, not just RIP in particular. Programs that updated their codes don't have this problem. RIP was not updated unfortunately.

In fact, if you use the netcdf version before this split, you would not have any problem.
