Extension Options Panel broken due to combination of Firefox 148/fx-autoconfig?

The extension manager script by aminomancer works on Firefox 147 with fx-autoconfig, but it stopped functioning starting from version 148. I’m not sure what exactly broke it.

I also tested the “Extension Options Menu” script from xiaoxiaoflood’s Firefox scripts repository, but that one is also not working.

Apologies for posting this here, but I suspect the issue might be related to fx-autoconfig!?

BTW: Are there any working alternatives or updated approaches for managing extensions in recent Firefox versions?

On first glance I don't think this is about fx-autoconfig because if aminomancer's script doesn't seem to use UC_API anywhere and if you run the script straight from browser console it still doesn't work. It creates a button, but that button doesn't show any panel when clicked - instead there is an error in browser console about not being able to find a correct panel to show.

It kinda seems like maybe the onBeforeCreated callback of customizableUI.createWidget() is called earlier than the script expects it, so maybe that behavior changed between 147 and 148. But I'm not familiar what that script is doing so I could be totally off target there.
