This can have especially benefits if the import procedure contains transformations like BloomFilter, DoubleMetaphone or various Corruption methods.
This issue depends on the next issue about making transformations multi-thread safe.
Newer versions of OpenEMPI contain "high performance" import module which basically is a multi-thread capable import.
