Description
Greetings,
Although my issue is very similar to issue #97, that issue strangely got closed, even though the person who opened it admitted to being unable to fix the issue without switching to Arch Linux. I am opening this issue because, well, I don't really want to switch to Arch, haha. I was following the Manual Building Guide for Linux; I did change some steps, but that seems irrelevant to me (such as getting rid of the -y option in the apt command for installing dependencies because I wanted to OK the changes manually, downloading the repo using my web browser since git clone was strangely not working, and running sudo make instead of make just to prevent any potential "Permission Denied" errors). I don't think that any of my changes to the steps caused the error, though, because TripleLLL9 experienced a very similar error despite not having made any of the same changes (as far as we know). Here is the exact error I encountered:
*** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated
Aborted
make: *** [Makefile.split:180: build/us_pc/levels/ending/cake.inc.c] Error 134
I am on FunOS, a Linux distro based on Ubuntu LTS that uses JWM as the window manager, and the underlying Ubuntu version is 24.04.2 LTS. However, since TripleLLL9 was using Ubuntu 24.04, I think this issue is just related to Ubuntu 24.04 and not FunOS in particular.
Thank you for your time,
Gibsound
