Using Learn MCP Server in the AI Foundry portal

At Ignite, AI Foundry showed a new portal experience: You can now select an agent tool from a catalog or configure a custom (MCP) tool, add instructions and use/test it in an agent in the portal. If you are familiar with Copilot Studio, this experience may look familiar. Here is an early walkthrough:

• Navigate to https://ai.azure.com/ and make sure to use the New Foundry experience
• Verify that you already have a Foundry instance and project. If not, create one.
• Note the Discover, Build and Operate tabs at the top. Click Build
• Click create agent, and give it a name

• Click + Add under Tools, select the Catalog, search Learn, select it, click Create, click Connect

• In the Instructions field, enter "When a question is about Microsoft products or services, use Microsoft Learn tool to find an answer" or similar

• Click Save
• Now enter a test question like "How to create an AI Foundry instance using CLI?"

If you want, you can also add any MCP tool by first creating the tool

and then selecting it
