NEW Protection Circuitry Addition

Goals:

  • Add the new protection components once found to your schematic
  • ensure the transceiver VCC/VDD gets 5V for operation, but the VIO gets 3.3V so it matches with the logic interface of the STM32

Soft Due Date: Sunday Dec 7th

Development of V2 PCB board.

Goals:

  • Develop the schematic and PCB layout for integrating the microcontroller with the IMU

  • Identify all required components for your specific PCB (outside of the mandatory list given below), make sure to provide this list to the research team so they can continue to find the best options

    • LSM6SO32TR IMU sensor
    • STM32 F446 microcontroller chip
    • 2 LEDs (1 for power, 1 for MCU communication)
    • Resistors for LEDs
    • Decoupling capacitor for IMU
    • Overvoltage protection
  • Prepare the design for review and approval from your leads

  • Once the exact components are selected, finalize the schematic in Altium

Please note:

  • Pay attention to footprints and pin configurations
  • Ensure all pieces need to make the board functional are on the board ( ex may need resistors or capacitors)
  • Makes sure to document any assumptions or decisions made during the design
  • Use the documentation template in the drive

  • List of components for the research team
    • Earlier Due Date: Wednesday Nov. 19
  • Schematic Altium file uploaded to the Exoskeleton Workspace
  • Documentation
    Should contain:
    • List of components with links
    • Brief explanation of design decisions or assumptions
    • Photos of Schematic
