Hi, thank you too much for this incredible project. It is very nice.

I remembered the RF60 series chip could clone the Car key. And you know some ECM has Immo system to forbid people who is not authorized.

Would you mind to create a Hardware to connect them together? For Immo, I do not have good suggestion for this maybe if the BLE connection is security enough, Immo will be no need.

Could you explain a little more detailed what you are trying to achieve, as I'm not sure I fully understand.
Are you trying to add this to a modern car that has an immobilizer system?

If you are concerned about the security of the BLE connection, on the branch feat/better-security I have a version that sends commands only in rolling codes, so if someone were to record the message replaying it would not work.
But this still sometimes has some bugs if the car looses power and the codes get out of sync.

Thanks for your quick response. Sorry, let me clarify my statement.

Yes, I am worried about security of BLE, rolling codes is a good solutions for this.

My questions is:

1. If I wanna remote start my engine, there is a IMMO system to detect the key existing first. In this case, only connecting the dry contact to the starter and allowing the starter to run for a fixed period of time may still result in failure to start normally. Do you have some suggestions?
2. Related to key clone. Currently I understand the port is via control the car key touch switch. I mentioned RF60 series chip could clone the key remote signal. In this case (VW AG brand car), user could use 5053 wire to register their remoter into comfort system.

This may involve more hardware development work. If your project doesn't have this in mind for now, I'll close this issue. Thank you so much for your response and your work—I really appreciate it!

Okay so if I'm understanding it correctly you want to start your car from the esp32, but it only allows staring if its actual key is present or sent the start signal.
Now you want to use this chip to have a "fake" key present/send the start signal from it?

If so could you maybe just connect that chip to the esp and if you press start engine in the app the esp activates it/sends the start signal to the car?

My car is Audi Allroad Quattro, which means the electronic system is designed around 30 years ago. The ECM need to verified the key IMMO code. In this case, If I keep my key insert on the key hole or disable the immo. Then open the ECM and run the starter, the engine would be start.

To summarize this question, I believe it boils down to whether you plan to develop a hardware platform for this project or focus solely on designing software.

I'm currently preparing to design some simple hardware carriers and have them manufactured through JLCPCB. Since I live in China, it's very convenient to manufacture and produce hardware. Perhaps when the time is right, I'll propose some PR.
