SFTP Support

My VPS uses SFTP for all of their file transferring between services. Is there anyway to change the code so that the plug-in uploader can use SFTP instead of FTP. There is simply no way around using SFTP on a FTP plugin without changing somehow, this isn’t really a bug but a request for help or feature tip.
