Hello QuASI development team,

I used the QuASI plugin in QuPath to automatically align two HE stained whole slide images and computed an affine transformation matrix. I would like to understand more about the algorithmic details behind QuASI’s automatic alignment feature, specifically:
Which algorithm(s) does QuASI use to automatically align two pictures?
Is there a peer-reviewed paper or preprint that describes the method or its validation? If yes, I’d like to cite it in my work.
