Reconstructing the invariant mass of particle that decays to W- and W+ bosons

I am wondering how to reconstruct the invariant mass of a particle that decays to W bosons in reconstructed level mode. The full process of my signal is mu- mu+ > Z' (hypothetical particle) > w- w+, (w- > mu- vm~, w+ > mu+ vm). Thanks a lot!

Hi @nyckxxstark, your final states are leptons and missing energy. Missing energy does not have a pz component, so you will lose some information there, but if you write the energy conservation equations, you will see that you can reconstruct the mass by solving a polynomial equation. e.g. something similar (not exactly the same, since it's not the same diagram) has been done in 2303.03427.
