I tried the library and it's not even trying to send the email. The result from client.SendMail(emailMessage) is always: Status = WaitingForActivation. I already enabled the "Internet (client)" capability in the manifest file, but it's still not working. Am I missing something?

This is usually occurring when you are calling an awaitable method without the await keyword.

You should call the SendMail method as follows:

await client.SendMailAsync(emailMessage);

This will cause a WaitingForActivation message:

client.SendMailAsync(emailMessage);
