We should implement a drag into workspace option for h5 files. Maybe uiopen() in smite that passes all other filetypes to matlab version.

Status: Feature Request - Not Implemented

This feature has not been implemented. Currently there is no custom uiopen function in the smite codebase.

Requested Feature:

• Implement custom uiopen.m in smite that intercepts drag-and-drop for .h5 files
• Would automatically load .h5 files using smite's LoadData functionality
• Pass through other file types to MATLAB's default uiopen

Current Workaround:
Users must manually load .h5 files using:

[Data, FileInfo] = smi_core.LoadData.loadFile('filename.h5');

Implementation Notes:

• Would need to create uiopen.m in MATLAB/ directory
• Should check file extension and call smi_core.LoadData for .h5 files
• For other file types: builtin('uiopen', varargin{:})

Keeping open as an enhancement request.
