Ways to measure the electrical activity of plants

Hi @Lessnullvoid,

I'm trying to measure the electrical activity of plants, and I found two differents approach of doing so.

the first one is yours, using operational amplifiers.

The other one is from Data Garden, which is done by using a 555 timer IC to "graph changes in galvanic response by producing a square wave of variable frequency and pulse width" (source 1, source 2)

Could you explain (at least briefly) what are the main differences in these two ways of sensing? Are they collecting the same type of data?

I wrote my thesis about the topic of human-plant interaction and also did research on the different approachs on how to gather signals from plants.
