January 2026 Product Update - Design Intent Error

This is an issue because of changes in Fusion January 2026 Product Update.

Autodesk added Design Intent as active by default. There is now a choice when creating a new design. There are six choices, but there are the ones that are most applicable.

• Parts - This one is designed to create parts and parts only. It does not create components
• Assemblies - Designed for creating components and assemblies,
• Hybrid - is designed for smaller, isolated assemblies or early ideation projects, this allows the creation of components and assemblies and works with this script.

This saved me. I was able to change the Design Type under Document Settings by clicking the pencil icon and converting it to Hybrid which will then reveal the Gridfinity options under Create.
