Hey, can I know what exactly was the workflow that you used or the exact AI agent that you used to re-implement it so quickly?

This is NOT all of the claude code implementation. There are 309 folders containing containing about 1917 typescript files. Not to say that this isn't a great accomplishment but to say, it is not the full implmentation, based on what I can gather. The typescript code is comprised of about 512K LoC and even a conservative port to Rust (of all the functionality) would be about 25-30% more code, due to the verbosity of Rust itself. This is all based on my eye-ball analysis of this codebase, of course. Do with that detail what you will.

Also I focused on usability with focused rewrites to always get the "experience" of claude code, still working massively with most of the featureset replicated and some rust specific additions coming very soon

the intent isn't to just replicate Claude Code, it's to build something better and bigger for the community :)

The typescript source is not in the repo because of the cleanroom process. Copies of that source were removed by GitHub because anthropic requested DMCA takedowns. I am confident you can find it if you need to, but doing so might be illegal in some jurisdictions, so do so at your own peril.

The thing is, US law states that AI generated code is not copyright protected. So, if Anthropic's claim, as stated by Boris, the "creator" of Claude Code, that claude code itself is now 100% LLM/AI generated, the DMCA is NOT enforceable and constitutes fraud and perjury in a court of law. Talk about hypocrisy though, coming from Anthropic.

In the video I watched they mentioned he used Codex. But I imagine Claude code would have been quite familiar with this particular code base. Lol
