not running well with ARM

I've been running some previous version from Feb 2025 with great success on my Surface Laptop with Snapdragon, but after it got knicked I installed 1.0.0.39 on a new device (with same specs), and now it stalls all the time. I've tried the default install and the Portable one. 
Any suggestions?
