Cool and practical IDE for kids

Let's avoid terminal for kids first experience. Would be awesome to have one cross platform IDE that could run scripts without opening the console.

For Mac and Linux there is Atom, which is open source.
For Windows can we suggest Sublime?
For Raspberry Pi we can use Gedit (or similar) with python console.
Does Notepad++ execute scripts from the IDE?
