status windows won't go away

The little hint box that says "minimum science value for the experiment to run" will open... and never disappear. It stays there in every screen, from VAB, to orbit, disappears in the orbital view, but i go back to the ship view and it comes back. covers other hint boxes. even stays there in the menu screen if I exit the game to the main menu.

This also happens to me... the tooltip never disappears no matter where you go be it to the main menu, to flying a ship to any of the different buildings. Hoverring over another tooltip or the same one changes the tooltip, but as soon as you move away from the menu, the original tooltip comes back.
