Upcoming Feature for v1.0

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm starting to plan for the next version, v1.0, of Checker Chess. This update will mark the begin for this game. Instead of just playing this game online on itch.io, you will also be able to download it as an app.

Proposed Features for v1.0

Here are the features I'm proposing to add to the next version:

1. Main Menu and UI

Upon entering the game, you will be greeted with a new main menu, as well as some UI that allow you to customise your gameplay experiences.

2. Background Music

Say goodbye to the boring waiting as your opponent thinking his/her next move, we are adding ambient background music into your gameplay.

3. Flip Board

You can choose to automatically flip the view of the board after making a turn, or manually flip it with a button mid-game.

4. Time Control

You can choose between 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes (or without time control) for a more focus and intense gameplay experiences.

I'd appreciate any feedback on this list. Are there any other features you think are essential for our official release? Should any of these be prioritized over others?

I am grateful to the support from you all through out this project. While this update will mark the end for the development build for Checker Chess, I will still have some additional feature (such as mulitplayer support) that I would like to add into the game. However, I have another project that I would love to do, so this game might stop receiving update for a while. But I promise to return to this project once I am ready!

Removal of time control

Further play testing indicate that checker always has a disadvantage when playing on time control because of the repeated movement. Thus, we will remove this feature in v1.0
