A big problem as to why EDM cant do proper 3d machining like a cnc machine could (in a feasable price range diy style) is because the electrode wears off in the corners first and not the center, leaving you with a cavity in the work piece that is not 180 degrees flat. In your experiences with ECM, due to not having any tool wear, when you machine a workpiece are the cavities 90 degrees or perpendicular(assuming your electrode is a flat square stick for example)? thank you for your work and your response
