Basing video dimensions on height only would be nice #2

This might've been what I was trying to go for originally. On devices that are less than widescreen (3:2 etc.) it's safe to just crop the left and right edges of the video, as nothing critical is in that space. But I still don't see a non-trivial means of achieving this.
