[New Benchmark] - Test of statistical error in OpenMC with and without WW #454

@Radiation-Transport

Description

@Radiation-Transport

Is the new benchmark computational or experimental?

  • Computational
  • Experimental

Is this a MultiTest or a normal Test?

Multitest.

Give a concise description of the benchmark

Simple vacuum sphere with radius 5 cm, and the isotropic neutron source is defined in the position 10 cm from the centre of the sphere with monoenergetic 14MeV source.

MCNP Variance Reduction Examples - several independent calculations with increasing particle histories 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000 with and without use of the variance reduction technique(s).

I would say to observe the statistical error variation in function of parameter as n-batch and nps, and comparing it vs analytical results.

Does the benchmark needs new types of plots?

I do not think so.

Can the benchmark be used for all codes implemented in JADE or for a specific subset?

OpenMC.

Can inputs of this benchmark be freely re-distributed?

  • yes
  • no
