Remove overlays once series returns

I'm just using the returning series functionality - is there a way to revert to the original cover / effectively remove the overlay once the new season has started?

TMDB has episode air dates in two locations in their API call, one being 'last air date' under the main show entry and one being under show>last episode aired>air date. Unfortunately these do not always align for whatever reason. The date under the episode entry, as far as I can tell, is accurate, but the one under the main show entry is the problematic one. Not every show should have this problem. The only solutions right now are either some extensive changes in pattrmm, which I just don't have time to do right now, or the source date for Kometa's 'last episode aired' date would need to change, which shouldn't be a requirement. The issue comes and goes but currently is strictly because of outdated tmdb information.

What happens when the series comes back? I've never actually tested this. Does it just keep the date?
