Feature Description
Description
Currently, when holding a finger anywhere on the video, the app activates a fast-forward seek action.
This makes it difficult to control playback direction quickly or intuitively.
Proposed behavior
- Holding on the right side of the video screen should fast-forward.
- Holding on the left side of the video screen should fast-rewind (reverse seek).
- This would mirror gesture behavior in popular video app VLC, improving intuitiveness and playback control.
Benefits
- Enables intuitive gesture-based directional control.
- Reduces accidental fast-forwarding when the user intended to rewind.
- Improves one-handed usability and accessibility for mobile playback.
Example implementation
- Divide the playback area into equal left/right touch zones.
- If the user holds a finger on the left zone → fast-rewind continuously.
- If the user holds a finger on the right zone → fast-forward continuously.
- Optional: display a small on-screen indicator for direction and speed.
Environment
- App version: 4.7.9
