Feature request: figure out torch

InfraredTorchControl.IsSupported returns false, but I've seen the red light blinking once with some other code, hinting that there might be another way of activating it.

Fun stuff. Gemini 2.5 Pro instantly figured out it was due to MediaCaptureSharingMode. It seems to work on my laptop with MediaCaptureSharingMode.ExclusiveControl. IsSupported still returns false, but now I get torch working and illuminated frames are actually illuminated by it.

My apologies for the late reply, I missed your issue.
On my device the torch is always on by default. I also get false from InfraredTorchControl.IsSupported. Were you able to control the torch with MediaCaptureSharingMode.ExclusiveControl despite TorchControl being false?

I can implement a fix or you can do a pull request for what worked for you so other people who have the same hardware also have a working torch.

Sure. My device is Thinkpad E16 Gen 2 and the IR torch never turns on at all - not even a blink as these other people said.

Maybe you have a device that supports the infrared torch control, I'll add a toggle for that too so you can try if it works when it is supported. I just pushed new code that sets the camera mode to exclusive instead of shared, which should solve the torch problem for some people. I'll publish a release build in a bit.

Let me add a toggle for exclusive mode control and a way to force show the torch toggles even if it reports not supported. The IR torch turns on for Windows Hello authentication right? I don't know if they have a dedicated API or something else, if I had the same device you have I could probably figure out how it does that.
