Considerations and useful tips.

Chunk Stories is a really good voxel engine, in its pre-alpha form. The open source community has been waiting for 10 years for a well-crafted Minecraft clone, which offers only the basics of MC's creative mode, together with the possibility of easily creating mods and free servers. Besides Minetest, which suffers from many defects, nothing exists at the moment.

My question is simple: Chunk Stories is strangely not very visible on the web, and I was expecting a larger and more active development team for this beautiful project.

Page Patreon, Indiegogo, and spread on stackoverflow, indie game development forums, and more. This is useful for organizing a good team, receiving the right donations for the project, and making Chunk Stories a complete engine, and used by many (really many) users who are tired of submitting to the famous commercial product now in decline.

Chunk Stories is really nice, I would like it based on MC 1.2 (main contents and functionalities, all the rest left to the mods).

I'm not sure if there is so much of a public for it out there as you imply; I would be glad to see this project getting more popular, and I'm actually working on some 'interesting' plans behind the scenes to recruit a few developers ( can't talk about them just yet ), but I've always limited myself to reasonable goals with this project for obvious morale reasons.

I would gladly take any publicity, but at this point the latest builds are either outdated or rough around the edges, ideally I'd want to get something polished out there (genuinely fun to play as a game, not just a tech demo), then pull the lever on some grand reveal/publicity campaign towards the potential player-base. Publicity targeting other FOSS devs is fine as things stand, I went to FOSDEM this year, and I might try to get a short presentation in there next year, but that's really up in the air at this point and will depend on how the next few months turn out.

I also have to balance commitment to this project with other things, namely I'm a university student towards the end of my curriculum and I have research/professional ambitions to worry about. I can't say I will have the time to work on Chunk Stories forever (or beyond next year really), and I'm unsure about taking donations or setting up a Patreon because of that.

I don't have any issue with posting this here, but why did you chose that option ? I have an email that shouldn't be too hard to find, and there is a Discord and a subreddit for the project. I know some people don't like Discord, but I'm most active there since it's where most other people I talk to hang out.

@Hugobros3 Thanks for your answers. I wrote here because I thought Discord and other media were less immediate for you (you are the only developer of the project at the moment).

Actually Chunk Stories represents the desire of many teachers, students, and players who want a Minecraft-Like game engine to carry out projects aimed at school education (I myself use Minetest in primary schools here in Italy). Although in silence, I assure you that many users want this project. There are no valid alternatives besides Minetest (Terasology will probably never see light as a usable project, but only as a confused academic experiment).

If in the future you will have less time to devote to Chunk Stories, I'd be happy to manage the organization of your project, recruiting developers, artists, and web designers to create a small, complete and useful community to continue development.

I wonder, what is it that you find wrong with Terasology ? I've been digging into them lately ( evaluating how redundant the two projects are really ), and at least on the surface they appear to be fine people. Can you share some insight into this, I'm really looking for perspectives on them.
