How to export POSCAR files without FireWorks?

Hi, is there a recommended way to export generated interface structures as POSCAR files without using FireWorks? When I set to_fireworks=False and/or provide work_dir, nothing is written and the function returns None. Any hint would be appreciated—thanks!
