Using delay THC for piercing.

Hello there, I am new on the forum and love cnc applications. This project is one of them. I have build the THC and fortunately it works. But one thing is not working and that is the delay time. If I increase it even up to 10 seconds (value 100000 in the sketch) it does not work. The THC starts immediately with hight control after the threshold is above 40 V. I want to use the delay time to give my second Z-axis to do the piercing at a higher level, before the THC starts working. If I give the same delay time as the pierce time, it should be a simple solution. Has anyone had the same problem with the delay time?
