Is English the only supported language? Any plans for other languages?

I would like to ask whether the MedASR model currently supports only English. If that is the case, are there any ongoing efforts or future plans to add support for other languages?

Support for additional languages would be very valuable, especially for non-English-speaking medical communities.

Hi @cidmlp Thank you for the your interest . Currently, MedASR is pre-trained and finetuned on English only data. I'll make sure our internal team knows you're interested in support for other languages. I'm right there with you expanding this for non-English-speaking medical professionals would be incredibly impactful.

I’d really love to see this available in languages other than English, especially Spanish in my case 😉

Until official support for additional languages is released, it could be worth experimenting with extending the current vocab to other languages and fine-tuning the model on open-source speech datasets.
