Hi All,
Hopefully, the features in v1.01 are an acceptable base level and provide an alternative to the stock firmware.

I do not plan to continue with this project, but if someone wants to run with it that would be great. I will not remove anything from GitHub, but I suggest someone creates a controlled version for the community to use.

I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments, and I have enjoyed burning the hours for the last few weeks, but I cannot devote so much time to this. I am a retired electronics engineer and need to spend more time with my family.

I am sure there are many more features and improvements to be made, but the basic receiver operation cannot really change very much.
The small form factor of the ATS-Mini is interesting, but it also has limitations. The hardware is generally excellent, and the addition of the external mute circuitry to remove the annoying clicks when the SI4732-A10 is reset, was a nice addition.

The SI4732 is a fantastic chip and is used in so many projects, but the future is probably in SDR based solutions. There are now many projects on MCUs such as the Raspberry Pi Pico 2/2W that are capable for this task. This enables more features to be added, including all modes, band scopes and digital decoding .

I will continue to monitor the site, but I won’t be making any further updates.

A few minor points on the hardware.

• No headphone amplifier. The SI4732 is not designed to drive headphones directly. It is designed for a high impedance load.

• No ESD protection on the USB port.

• Limited RF front-end filtering and no ESD protection. This may be improved by the circuit shown by Yura in the previous threads.

• There is a load sharing circuit, which is a great idea because it allows simultaneous charge and power, and the charging circuit will correctly switch off when the charge current reaches the 1/10 Iset point even with the radio powered. However the battery monitoring is on the output of the load sharing, so can not check battery voltage during charging.

Sorry for stupid question, but what compiler are you using? I tried Arduino IDE(last version), platformIO(last version)...and all gave me errors while compiling source code like:
'ledcSetup' was not declared in this scope..
'cleanBfoRdsInfo' was not declared in this scope and like that.
'useBand' was not declared in this scope .... and so on.

@grygaz The ledc error is caused by newer ESP32 Arduino core 3.x. You can use the following patch: #2 (comment)

I have enabled the Issues tab.
But keep in mind that I made a fork in order to add the functionality I need.
I will be happy to communicate and discuss new features of this wonderful radio, and possibly implement them as much as my programming skills allow me.
