Describe the bug

This started happening 2 months ago or so. Before that it was working well. I am using extension with "Overview background" -> "Show Wallpaper" set to "Enable - Fast Blur Transitions".

This worked well but now when I press Super key which opens window overview, on good days only the top bar on the screen (the one with date and desktops switcher) flashes for a bit with un-blured whitepaper before it becomes darker. On bad days, whole whitepaper is shown for a second or two before it becomes darker.

Basic debug information

  • Did disabling all other extensions help? No.
  • Did you find conflicting extension? No.

To Reproduce

  • Have bright whitepaper.
  • Enable "Show Wallpaper".
  • Trigger window overview.

Expected behavior

That background is immediately dark version of the whitepaper.

Screenshots

This happens really fast.

System:

  • OS: Ubuntu 24.04.4
  • Version of V-Shell extension: 49.13
  • Source of installation: Extensions app
  • Other installed and enabled extensions: Just Perfection, GHC-E

System log output
open terminal, execute:
journalctl /usr/bin/{gjs,gnome-shell} -fo cat
reproduce the bug, copy the output from terminal if any.

I get Couldn't canonicalize path: No such file or directory error.
