Make chart compatible with gateway API

Kubernetes is making Ingress deprecated in favor of gateway API.

Would it be possible to handle these new objects in the values of the helm chart ?

@sashalarsoo I'm going to leave this ticket open because I agree that it is something we should do, but please do not open any other issues related to this. I just closed #123 as a duplicate.

To reiterate what I said in the other issue, the Ingress API is not being deprecated.

The Ingress API is generally available, and is subject to the stability guarantees for generally available APIs. The Kubernetes project has no plans to remove Ingress from Kubernetes.

The Ingress API is GA since Kubernetes 1.19. There are no plans to deprecate this API and we expect most Ingress controllers to support it indefinitely.

Ingress nginx is being deprecated https://kubernetes.io/blog/2025/11/11/ingress-nginx-retirement/.
Most people and teams take advantage of this to migrate to gateway api which is now recommanded by k8s, this is the modern way to serve web services. https://gateway-api.sigs.k8s.io/
So it will be great to get this new feature before end of march... and its not complicated to implement.

We're aware that the NGINX Ingress Controller is being deprecated, but this is not the same thing as the Kubernetes Ingress API, which is not being deprecated. You can continue to use the Ingress API with other ingress controllers.

It may not seem complicated from your perspective to migrate to Gateway API but this is not necessarily the case for everyone. This is a public chart used by a lot of people with a lot of different configurations and Kubernetes cluster versions. Some people using this chart may not be running cluster versions that support Gateway API. We have to carefully consider and properly test changes to the chart.

Yes take the necessary time.
It may happen that people doesnt have crds so a solution could be to disable gateway api by default in the Chart.
