Description
Hello Mr Frog,
Currently looking after a little one and trying to squeeze some Xcom 2 sessions at 90 fps via Moonlight during breaks.
The gods of streaming have given me a nearly flawless set up. PC is in the attic and I control it all from the living room or bedroom downstairs via Moondeck. I spend weeks without going up there. I can turn off and on the PC, even from a full shutdown, using Moondeck’s LAN wake up function.
(By the way, thank you so much for the absolutely tremendous thing you’ve created here!)
Now here’s my feature request:
- create a client option so that that putting the Steam Deck to sleep automatically suspends the host PC.
Moondeck already does something similar - if you put the SD to sleep mid streaming session, it’ll automatically resume the stream upon turning the SD back on.
My main goal is to save energy for environmental / waste considerations. Also it’s €0.27 / kWh right now, probably about to get worse.
The PC is pulling about 400w when Xcom 2 is running. If the PC is running for 12h with Xcom 2 on, that’s €1.30/day extra. That’s mad.
I know I can just suspend the host PC manually via Moondeck. But when you’re looking after a baby sometimes you just need to turn pff the screen very quickly without fiddling with the Moondeck system menu.
The function I’m describing would essentially transform Moonlight into a near-console experience from a plug-and-play perspective.
