Description
Hello CADability maintainers,
we are currently evaluating CADability for use in an existing Windows Forms
application that is planned to be migrated from classic .NET Framework
(4.x) to modern .NET (.NET 6 / 7 / 8, windows).
While reviewing the repository and documentation, we could not find a clear
statement regarding the officially supported target frameworks.
Therefore, we would like to clarify the following points:
- Is CADability (core library) officially supported and tested with
.NET 6 / .NET 7 / .NET 8 (netX.Y-windows)? - Does this also apply to CADability.Forms / WinForms-based UI components?
- Are there any known limitations, required settings, or recommended
target frameworks for modern .NET (e.g. net6.0-windows)? - Is there a roadmap or recommendation for projects currently running on
.NET Framework that want to migrate to .NET 6+?
We understand that CADability is open source and can technically be adapted,
but for project planning and risk assessment it would be very helpful to know
what is considered officially supported.
Thank you very much for your work and for any clarification.
Best regards
