Future of Sapelli - will there ever by a version for IOS?

If the University (UCL) backing this were to 'de-emphasise', where would that leave users or is Sapelli good enough now to survive no new updates? 

Are there any plans to support the iPhone? Maybe by making Sapelli a progressive web app that will run offline, thus becoming platform independent but still highly practical?
