Have control interface support large socket attributes

The control interface truncates the attribute values larger than 512 bytes.

This reduces control interface complexity somewhat, but also means such attributes cannot be full observed over the control i/f.

Currently, tls.cert and tls.tc are the only attributes with such large values.
