Is it possible to reconnect?

Hello,

I am using zeroconnect to connect devices on the same network for sync purposes. At the beginning everything works fine. However, after sometime some devices do get the messages sent by other devices but the messages sent from those devices will not be received by others.

I am assuming that the AdService on those devices are somehow closed.

Is there any way to restart the AdService upon closing? This way we can guarantee that the AddService is always up and running.

Hi! Sorry; I just figured out how to see a list of issues raised on any of my repos.
That sounds odd - once a connection is established, the advertisement shouldn't matter, anymore. Furthermore, a connection is two-way, a wrapper around a single TCP connection - it shouldn't break in only one direction. Are (were) you using a single MessageSocket for both reading and writing, or using one for reading and one for writing? (For instance, if all your nodes are the same, perhaps they both advertise and scan, and read messages from incoming MessageSockets and write messages to outgoing MessageSockets.)

Assuming separate MessageSockets for reading and for writing, I still don't know why they would stop working in one direction. Is there any pattern as to which devices have problems? Perhaps the OS is closing long-running connections? The advertisement should stay active until you call close(), but I haven't really tested that, and NSD's been a little flaky for me sometimes. You could try calling advertise() periodically, though I'm a little suspicious that could cause other problems (like, invalidating the existing ads other nodes already have, or something - existing connections should be fine, though.)
