Could not locate Rust Compiler

Hello,

I have a problem with Rust it seems.
The first thing I did was installing Rust with the curl line from the Rust website.
After that I did all the Ubuntu install steps.
But I'm still getting the "Could not locate Rust Compiler" error any idea how to fix this?

Do I have to do all the PATH and Cargo stuff the install is mentioning at the end even tho I already rebooted my system?
I'm a completely noob when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm on the newest version of Linux Mint.

I ended up using "sudo apt install rustup" instead of the provided curl command. I then ran into the "error: failed to run custom build command for hidapi v1.5.0" which I resolved by running "sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev"

now I get this error:
