Description

@EducationalVideoCenter

If you are interested in this project, even if you are not sure how to contribute, please say "Hi" and tell us a bit about yourself.
We would also love to know what you think is the most important thing to keep in mind when working with rural communities!

We will start, here's a little about the EVC team:

Emmanuel: I'm an instructor for the Educational Video Center. Originally from San Diego, CA I moved to New York in 2010 for graduate school to study the Sociology of Education and have stayed ever since. While the California coast will always be home, I love the wealth of culture and energy that is created from the diversity and density by the people of NYC. Working on the We Are All Connected Project has been such a fun and meaningful experience as it brings together so many of my interests and passions - experiential learning, travel, applied sociology, youth empowerment, documentary film, exchanging of cultures and more. We're excited to now take this work into the open!

Mary: Hi, I'm the Director of Professional Development Programs for Educational Video Center. I'm an educator who is originally from the Appalachian region of Ohio in the USA and currently lives in New York City. I began doing urban-rural collaborative community work as a Spanish high school teacher in Appalachia over ten years ago and have also worked with urban and rural youth in Central America and Brazil. I love the richness of these projects and how much we all learn from working together!!

We hope you feel welcomed to this project!! 😃
