Codex doesn't show up in search

Searching Codex on OpenVSX extensions doesn't show up at all. Tested with other devices, we show like the 8th at best. I needed to search Codex openai to get the right extension. Any chance we can do something about this? Appreciate your help a lot!

There is not a single solution that solves all problems with the search, it would be useful to collect cases that are not optimal or could be improved.

This specific example is certainly different than the one from the referenced ticket as the search pattern is only a partial match of the displayname of the extension while the search pattern does not occur in any other field.

I’m fine keeping this issue open.

My only concern with adjusting relevance independently is that a change aimed at improving one case can unintentionally introduce regressions in other search scenarios that we’ve previously fixed. When we work on relevance improvements, I prefer tend to evaluate the broader impact on search results to ensure overall quality doesn’t degrade.

That said, I agree this example highlights a distinct case that is worth tracking.

perfectly understand that micro-optimization for search results is counter productive. This specific case might indicate though that we might need to analyse certain fields differently to ensure extensions can be found.

This extension has CodeX in its displayname, but its just a partial match, which might not be work as expected right away. I am no expert in ES, so we would need to dig into it.

Yes it's this one. I agree with the fact that search should be addressed globally. I also agree with @netomi that this partial match case is really important because it's odd that an extension with 100k downloads doesn't show up at all.
