Force playback without transcoding

Summary

MPV is a very capable mediaplayer and transcoding without a gpu uses allot of cpu and it usually has bigger file size for less quality.

Basic Example

I have a rather weak tablet-pc but it can still handle 1080p hevc with 5.1 audio and subtitles with vlc or mpv, in addition when im not at home and watching stuff over mobile data id rather not turn a 500mb file into a multi gb file.

I'm not quite sure what it is you're asking? The player transcodes because your hardware can't play the video file there is no way to "force" direct play. The playback profile is a bit hit and miss so could it be that your asking for improvements on hardware detection?

you dont need hardware support to play video files. using software decoding i can watch stuff fine that fladder wants to transcode.

I can have a look at adding the option to force direct play. But it might only be implemented when the playback profile is improved for all platforms though.
