In my opinion it shouldn’t be about the issue number. The other discussion has more engagement (upvotes), which may make it a better place to consolidate the conversation. Open source shouldn’t really be a competition about who suggested something first.

It might also help to improve the title for discoverability. When I searched for terms like "droid" or "f-droid", this discussion didn’t appear, while the other one did, so it was harder to find.

Have no problem with some issue taking over, but you basically wrote, "Here was a duplicate opened" and not discussion got taken over by similar issue or so.

I write fdroid because bin in fdroidserver is called fdroid (without a hyphen)
