Make our finances more visible by publishing charts more regularly.

A couple of times in the past I've written up a long blog post to say that we need more money coming in and accompanied it by lots of lovely graphs. This has been a relatively time consuming process and doing it this time has become quite blocked by my time availability. I did improve the chart process earlier this year so it's not actually so hard for me to generate the charts but I've definitely got stuck on making a blog post. Similar to the page related to the posters that are going up in #24 It might be good to simply have a page on the site that shows these charts. They're actually slightly interactive as they use a JavaScript library, they could be even more interactive if we hosted the rails app that generates them but for now it would be good to just get some charts live. Right now they can't all go on the same page as the JS will overlap but that's probably fairly simple to fix. For now I'm going to drop the latest versions on this issue and we can determine what to do with them from there, hopefully they'll be at least downloadable from here for people to view for now.

I had hoped that dropping the HTML there would make them load in the browser but not for me at least! But those willing to do so should be able to download them individually or as the zip and load them locally.

FWIW I figured out why it didn't work on the blog, any blank lines in the javascript get a </p><p> added by Wordpress and break the script parsing. This link now shows one of the graphs, I'll still need to figure out how to put multiple graphs on the page, and ideally automate it to a degree.

I've now updated that page to have more charts on it, I've tweaked the code to make this a bit easier, each chart has a unique ID so the JavaScript and HTML elements don't overlap and I've moved the loading of the JavaScript into a single location for similar reasons.

I think the next thing which would make this all a lot easier would be to add a script or single page that can render all of these in one go rather than having to load the form each time and copy and paste. Should be quite doable really.
