Not sure if you're considering any changes to the Telnet API in the future, but one thing that would be useful is extending the information returned in DEVICE_FOUND so that the Home Assistant Device Registry can be populated more completely.
Some things that would be useful:
- Hardware Version and/or Model
- Software Version
- Serial Number
