[Feature Request]: Or Suggestion about the Cats

What would your feature do?

Would it be possible to remove the cat 'style' thumbnails from the current archive and add them to one of the other archives so the end user can use them if they wish or use their own as I do? I ask as I am made my own (not cats) thumbnails and they got over-written.
Just a thought.

@TaffyCarl I am pretty sure whatever images you put into FooocusPlus/UserDir/user_styles/samples will override the default images. And all the built-in styles can be overrode too if so desired. Or the user can add new styles too. Let me know, but I'm pretty sure its goodbye cats! 😿😿😹

😆 I put a shed load of different thumbnails but when it updated they were all gone and the cats were back. Don't get wrong, I love cats, it's just a personalisation thing shrug
I'm just re-creating them all with Z-Image and the sooner I get finished the better, even though it's working I still get that CMD Console error and the error none popout and it's doing my head in 🤔

@TaffyCarl The new thumbnails should be safe in the UserDir directory. There are two prime directives for FooocusPlus.

1. Anything placed in FooocusPlus/FooocusPlusAI is open to change at any time - during the next update or startup.

2. Anything placed in UserDir can only be changed by the user. Whatever is placed there will typically override whatever is placed in FooocusPlusAI (power to the people).

And so far these directives have not been violated - unlike Star Trek who seems to violate theirs every fourth episode! 🚀🌌😄

@TaffyCarl Having said all that I realize that in the case of Wildcards, FooocusPlus violates Prime Directive #2. The working directory for Wildcards actually is FooocusPlus/UserDir/wildcards, so they are overwritten from the masters at every startup. This means that while users can safely add their own wildcards they cannot override the built-in ones.

Unfortunately this was an early design should not have got published - and I have been uncertain how to correct this problem. The working directory for wildcards should be within the repo. as it is for all the other user configurations. At each startup the wildcards from master should be copied to this working directory and then overwritten by the ones in UserDir. This is how all the other UserDir files work.

While I could switch over to the standard system, it means that for current users every current wildcard file will be overwritten from UserDir at every startup. That would prevent current users from ever seeing updates to the current wildcards. The typical update is that if I see that a particular wildcard entry is being partially ignored I will strengthen it in some way to make it more effective.

I suppose what I could do is to have a phase-in period. I could switch over to the new system now and specifically delete any wildcard in UserDir for which there is a master. This would be no worse than what has already been happening. This condition would exist from now until FooocusPlus 1.1.0 at which time these deletions would cease and users could override built-in wildcards as they can for everything else (such as presets).

This subtopic has now become the Feature Request Initialize Wildcards in the Same Way as Other User Configurations. That Feature Request is now complete.

This is intriguing that the cat images are not being overwritten. I will have to explore this further.
