No way to enable skipRawCommand with orchestrion

I’m using dd-trace-go with orchestrion (auto-instrumentation) and noticed that there is currently no way to enable skipRawCommand without using the manual Redis instrumentation API.

I've raised this issue, but it doesn't seem to be making any progress.

Is there any way to do this through orchestrion?

Hi @laststem, thanks for reaching out. The effort to implement it on dd-trace-go or orchestrion is going to be similar. The best approach is to get it supported in dd-trace-go and ensure it gets enabled for Orchestrion too.

An alternative approach is to write an orchestrion.yml of your own to inject what you want to do straight into dd-trace-go, but that means you'll be writing as a string template in a YAML file what should be part of the tracer.

Please be reminded that Orchestrion injects code and then disappears - almost - from your code and binary. All that is left is dd-trace-go code.
